1. Program Objectives
Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea at graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
2. Total Number of Grantees in the USA: 19 candidates, 4 candidates for R-GKS
3. Available Universities: 74 universities in Korea designated by NIIED
4. Available Degree Program: Doctoral Degree, Master's Degree, Research Program
5. Eligibility
o Nationality: Applicants and their parents must not hold Korean Citizenship.
o Age: Applicants must be under 40 years of age (born after September 1, 1985).
o Degree Requirements: All applicants must have obtained the required degree or must be expected to graduate by July 31, 2025
o Grades: An applicant must maintain the overall grade point of average(CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the following;
[2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, 3.23 on a 5.0 scale ]
-Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one's class
o Health: An applicant must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.

** All certificates can be submitted without an Apostille, regardless of the GKS-G guidelines. However, applicants who are selected for an interview are required to submit an Apostille, so please prepare in advance
*** Applicants must submit 1 set of original application documents and 3 sets of photocopies, identical to the original set if you submit them in the mail.

**** Additional Points
- Applicants who hold a TOPIK, TOPIK IBT level 3 or above will be given additional points (10% of the total allocated points)
- Direct descendants of Korean War veterans who participated in the Korean War as a foreign military will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
- Applicants to science and engineering departments will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
7. Timeline of Application Procedure
o Application Deadline (IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MI, MN, MI, NE, ND, SD, OH, WI): February 28th, 2025 (Friday) *All the required documents MUST arrive by the deadline.

국립국제교육원에서 주관하는 2025년도 한국 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생 추천과 관련하여 미국 지역의 선발 관련 사항을 아래와 같이 알려드리오니, 관심있는 분들의 많은 지원을 바랍니다.
1. 목적
o 세계 우수 인재를 한국으로 초청하여 학위 취득을 지원함으로써 글로벌 인적 자원을 확보하고, 외국인 장학생 유치 확대를 통한 대학의 국제 교육 활성화 지원
2. 미국내 모집 인원
o 총 19명 (외국인 15명, 재외동포 및 입양인 0명, R-GKS 4명 )
3. 모집 과정
o (석사과정) 총 3년 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 2년)
o (박사과정) 총 4년 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 3년)
o (연구과정) 총 1년 (6개월 또는 1년)
4. 지원 자격
o (국적) 지원자는 초청국 국적 소유자, 지원자와 부모(또는 법적 보호자)는 외국 국적 보유자이어야하며, 지원자 또는 부모가 한국 국적을 가진 복수국적자이면 지원 불가.
o 지원자 또는 부모가 한국 국적을 가졌던 경우, 한국 국적 이탈 또는 상실을 증명하는 한국정부 발행서류 제출
o (연령) 40세 미만(1985.9.1. 이후 출생자) , ODA 수원국* 국적 현직교수는 45세 미만(1980.9.1 이후 출생)
o (학력) 지원시 과정별 학위 조건을 충족한 자 또는 2025.7.31 기준 학위 취득 예정인 자
박사과정(석사학위 이상), 석사과정(학사학위 이상),연구과정(박사 후 과정, 교환교수,전문가)
* 2024-25 학년도 학위취득예정자도 지원 가능, 단 2025.7.31.까지 졸업증명서 등 제출 필요
o (성적) 직전과정 모든 학년 종합 성적이 다음 조건 중 하나를 충족하는자
- 백분율 환산 점수 80% 이상 또는 석차 상휘 20% 이내
- CGPA 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0 이상인 자
*CGPA: Cumulative Grade Point Average, 종합평균평점
o 기수혜 장학생 재지원 불가
5. 장학금 내역
o 입/출국 항공료, 등록금, 어학연수비, 학업장려금
6. 제출 서류
o (공통) 지원서, 자기소개서, 학업계획서, 연구계획서(연구과정 지원자) ,추천서(1부), 지원자 동의서, 자가건강진단서, 개인정보 수집/이용 동의서 , 학위증명서 및 성적증명서, 국적 증빙서류(지원자 및 부모) 및 가족관계 증명서류
* 해당자만 제출 : 재외동포 또는 입양 증명서류, 한국국적 이탈 또는 상실 증명서류(지원자 및 부모), 한국전 참전 증명서류 및 가족관계 증명서류, 재직증명서 또는 경력증명서(국제기구 협력대학 교직원등) ,유효한 TOPIK 인증서 원본 또는 공인영어 성적표, 출간된 서적, 논문, 수상내역 등
o 심사 가산점 부여
- TOPIK.TOIPIK IBT 3급 이상 취득자는 서류심사 총 배점의 10%
- 한국전쟁 참전용사 후손은 서류심사 총 배점의 5%
- 이공계학과 지원자는 총 배점의 5%
** 붙임 모집요강을 참고하여 서류를 제출하되 모든 서류는 원본 1부와 복사본 3부를 제출하여야 함(우편접수 경우), 시카고한국교육원의 경우 이메일(kec.chicago@gmail.com) 접수 가능
*** 첨부된 가이드라인에도 불구하고 증명서류는 아포스티유 없이 제출하고, 면접 대상자로 선정된 자에한해 아포스티유 제출하여야하므로 준비요망
7. 제출 기한 및 방법
o 제출 기한: 2025. 2. 28 (금) 도착분에 한함

우편 접수시 9810 Capitol Drive, Wheeling, IL 60090 로 모든 서류가 기한 내 도착하여야 함
